The Watonga Street Department is responsible for a broad variety of functions that ensure the community is safe, clean and well maintained year after year. While the department’s nine-member staff maintains city streets, alleys and signage, its duties extend far beyond that. The department also is responsible for weekly trash pickup, demolition of condemned properties, snow removal and mowing along streets and right of ways.
The department is responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of equipment, including three garbage trucks, three dump trucks, a front-end loader, a road grader, a track hoe, two tractors, a sand truck and semi-tractor trailer truck.

The Transfer Station is open every Saturday from 9 to 1. The first ton is free with a paid, stamped Light and Water bill in your name.
